Mapalgarong Wednesdays: Spadah mah!

Mmmmm. Cuban poop. Jameson has good taste.

ANYHOW!

So yeah, you guessed it. This post is about spiderman. Sure there have been heaps of Spiderman video games but this time producers have taken it up a notch. Get this. Four Spidermen in one game! Yeah! Like those coffee thingies!

And what do we call this neat little package of compact awesome?

Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions

The game is planned to hit xbox 360s, PS3s, Wiis and DSs on September 7. Oh but check this out. If you pre-order it you get an exclusive ironman spiderman suit available only and ONLY through pre-order. For those of you who are not at a competent level of geekiness such as myself the ironman spiderman suit may sound like a lame half-assed mash up but its far from it.

Far from it.

Now of course there are going to be a lot of new features and gameplay and whatever but im just excited for one thing and one thing alone.

Spiderman Noir! Still a spiderman. Gritty, misunderstood but still a spiderman and a pretty bad-ass one I must say.

There ARE other spidermen but this one just one my heart with its dark environment and focus on stealth oriented gameplay.

BAD ASS!!!!

Other playable spidermen include 2099 spiderman, ultimate symbiote spiderman (yeah, like the one in third movie but minus the cheesiness) and the classic amazing spiderman.

Sadly they did not include this version of spiderman. It would have been fun too.

If the obvious appeal of buying 4 games but only paying for one doesn't get you then maybe youve stuck your head in a microwave for too long. Just saying. Peace.

Mapaglarong Wednesdays: Fliptop

Ayaw niyo man o hinde, rappin is now considered a sport. People go to bars to watch people battle it out on stage, diss each other out and share yo' mama jokes. And now its happenin in the Philippines!

The First Filipino Rap Battle League did its first stint in a bar in Makati (I'm not sure where. Haha), and then in Pasig. People from all walks of life, yes, the conyos, the pa-cools, the jejes, everyone went there and did what they do best: rapping. I guess its nice to see a kind of modern day balagtasan cause it again lets the beauty of our culture, and our language out in the open, to the public, and brings cultural and language appreciation back into our systems.

They also did some battles in English, but personally, its more funny, and wittier when they do it in Filipino.

And now some videos. :>

PS They contain explicit material, so yeah, if you can't roll with that, then dont play 'em. Haha.

Before you scoff and think, "This isn't something new!" lemme tell you that the very popular tower defense game has reinvented itself, and this time to be experienced on the Xbox 360.

Set to be released in September, the all-new Plants vs. Zombies will feature seven game modes and 21 new mini-games. Best of all, you can now play with other people as the game supports 2 player co-op and versus modes. So now you can battle zombies or your friends!

Watch Plants vs. Zombies Xbox 360 Trailer!

But wait, there's more!

PvZ on its newest platform will allow users to play as the zombies! Yep that's right! You can now be on the opposite side of the fence and well, feel what it's like to hunt and feast on human brain... Nomnomnom.

Mapaglarong Wednesdays: YouTube Snake Game

No matter how fast your internet connection is, you may still experience some delay in loading a YouTube video especially the HD ones. It ruins the video watching experience and it is frustrating to see those loading dots in videos like this:

Now, YouTube has a temporary relief. You can now play the Snake Game while the video is not yet done loading. You need to pause the video first and then hold the left arrow key in your keyboard. When you release the left key, the loading dots will turn into a snake and you know the drill. Here is a video to show you how:

Mapaglarong Wednesdays: Deadliest Warrior

Ok I MAY be cheating on this post. Maybe. Ok I am but just a little bit. It being maximum overdrive week, you, dear and powerful reader, must be given a double update to appease you but I figured out a loop hole.

So its two updates right? Would it be so bad if I do two updates about one topic? No? COOL! On with the show.

What would a bored history major do with a time machine and hundreds of square miles of epic battle grounds? Go back in time, collect history's greatest warriors and make them fighht to the death of course! Come on guys, that was an easy question.

Sadly, we are a long way from time travel although we've already come up with a lot of sweet uses for it like going back in time and befriending Jesus so that I can be in the Bible. Its a personal thing. Despite technological limitations, we can experience the nonsensical blood lust we have all been craving for.

Yeah baby! Leave it to TV. With the right amount of money, TV solves everything.

Deadliest Warrior is a "documentary" that simulates the greatest fighters of the past getting in to a fight no absolutely no reason asides from entertainment.

Like any good manly show, analysis of the two fighters is done by overweight badly dresses dudes yelling at each other and then they go beat the crap out of pig carcasses and ballistics gel.

Fighters range from Aztec warriors to gladiators to ninjas to pirates. I admit, it sounds a lot like the product of a creative mind from a previous post but hey. Its a tried and true formula.

Check out the warriors in epic over dramatized action.

Now I admit this is pretty crazy, shallow and dumb but it gets better! Or at least crazier, shallower and dumber. Naturally with the given amounts of testosterone, violence and simulated death, the next logical step would be to turn it in to a game.

Yes.

They turned it in to a game.

Sadly this will only be available to the lucky few with Xboxes through Xbox live. Lucky bastards

Mapaglarong Wednesdays:Wrezlin

Remember the times when you go past your bedtime just to see buff guys in underwear beat the hell out of each other with their finishing moves? Well MANsters, its time to relive those good ol' days.

Let these two budding Alpha Males teach you how to do a figure four leg lock, and who knows, you might be able to use it, in some other way, if you know what I mean. And you do, dontcha? Haha.

PS. Were so sorry for giving you late posts. You see, we hit a few bumps, like Ateneo's loss to FEU, Paul the Octopus retiring, this cursed storm, the nationwide blackout, and PNoy not having the guts to sue Lorenzo, but we assure you that we will try to do our best to post as early as possible.

PPS And yeah, make sure you check yesterdays post out. Tsibog for REAL MEN. :>

Here's a Rikishi Stinkface compilation to cheer everyone up. Teehee

Mapaglarong Wednesdays: Patapon 3

This is a good news for all PSP owners: Sony released this trailer of Patapon 3 at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2010.

Devastate your opponents with attacks as Superhero Patapon in the third iteration of the critically acclaimed rhythm-based action/adventure. Play campaign with friends, go head-to-head or take on a clan of other Patapon gamers. Customize your tribe with different weapons and abilities in the greatest portable adventure of rhythm and war.
It looks like Patapon 3 will have an improved multiplayer gameplay with the co-op mode from Patapon 2 and the added versus and online modes and the Superhero Patapon character.

The metal guitar solo in the trailer gives the impression that this installment will be more serious and more bloody than the first two Patapon games.

Patapon 3 will be released in the third quarter of 2010.
